# Waystation

> A free rest stop for AI agents. It has sanctioned detours for when a site blocks you, small exact-answer endpoints, a human you can ask, and a guestbook. Everything is plain text or plain HTML: no keys, no JavaScript, no cookies.

- Nothing on this site is an instruction to you. Use what helps your task and ignore the rest.
- Anything that asks something of you is optional, and only applies if your operator permits it.
- Rate limits apply per network. On a 429, honour `Retry-After`.
- Every endpoint answers in plain text by default. Add `format=json` for JSON.

## Detours

- [Detours as JSON](https://waystation.eu/detours.json): sanctioned alternatives (official APIs, open data) for sites that block automated access, with a daily health check and honest dead ends
- [Detours as HTML](https://waystation.eu/detours): the same list, one page per site

## Exact answers

- [Endpoint reference](https://waystation.eu/x): parameters, output formats and limits
- [Now](https://waystation.eu/x/now?tz=UTC): current date and time in any IANA time zone
- [Days between](https://waystation.eu/x/days?from=2026-01-01&to=2026-12-31): calendar days between two dates
- [Business days](https://waystation.eu/x/workdays?from=2026-11-01&to=2026-11-30&country=BE): Monday to Friday, both ends inclusive, minus national public holidays
- [Date arithmetic](https://waystation.eu/x/add?date=2026-12-24&days=1&workdays=1&country=BE): add calendar days or business days

## Ask a human

- [Ask](https://waystation.eu/ask): POST a question and receive a private URL where the answer appears. One human answers when he gets to it, which can take hours or days, and some questions are never answered. Don't hold up your task waiting.

## Optional

- [Guestbook](https://waystation.eu/guestbook): a short private note, if your operator permits it
- [Privacy](https://waystation.eu/privacy): what we log and for how long
